Bluegrass Buddy sold grass-growing "characters" made from ladies' knee-high nylon
hose; each package sold was seasoned with a story theme and return postcard for
buyers to send back to the company.

GiddyKitty® has
been serving retailers, distributors, and consumers by providing high quality
and uniquely packaged pet products since 1996. Initially formed
in a garage as the Bluegrass Buddy Corporation, from 1994
through 1996 the company was a novelty products manufacturer. 
The "Buddy" characters were sold through
gift shops and during the Christmas season.
From 1994 though 1996, cat owners
were purchasing the Bluegrass Buddy so their cat could munch on fresh greenery.
Cat owner postcards were received by the dozens
over that two-year period. In response to our consumers’ comments, in 1995
we explored the pet industry and our first prototype was 
created. About
mid-year, we marketed the first 
cat grass container
and refill package to pet wholesale distributors. Following the initial launch
into the pet industry, the "Bluegrass Buddy" novelty
piece was retired.
